Con más de una década en la escena de Metal Progresivo en México, y tras importantes logros a nivel nacional e internacional tocando en festivales como Domination Mx (2019), Progressive Nation at Sea (2014) y giras por México, Japón y Estados Unidos, el cuarteto instrumental de la Ciudad de México Glass Mind lanza “El Rey Negro”, el segundo adelanto de lo que será su nuevo álbum. Un sencillo en el que la banda explora la fusión del metal progresivo, jazz y ritmos latinos. Sumergida en una atmósfera enigmática, “El Rey Negro” es una canción llena de contrastes sonoros. Pasajes densos, oscuros y agresivos que se diluyen en otros suaves y melódicos, con un aire nostálgico. Con la intención de narrar una historia a través de sus instrumentos y el arte gráfico, este sencillo cuenta lo que sucede millones de años después de que una larva extraterrestre se incrustara en el centro de un planeta y al entrar en contacto con algunas especies, las ayudara a evolucionar. Producido por Glass Mind, mezclado por Benjamín Berthier y masterizado por Acle Kahney (Tesseract), "El Rey Negro" estará disponible en todas las plataformas digitales a partir del 10 de Diciembre.

With more than a decade in the Progressive Metal scene in Mexico, and after important national and international achievements playing at festivals such as Domination Mx (2019), Progressive Nation at Sea (2014) and tours of Mexico, Japan and the United States, the Mexico City instrumental quartet Glass Mind releases “El Rey Negro”, the second preview of what will be their new album. A single in which the band explores the fusion of progressive metal, jazz and Latin rhythms. Submerged in an enigmatic atmosphere, “El Rey Negro” is a song full of sonic contrasts. Dense, dark and aggressive passages that are diluted in other soft and melodic, with a nostalgic air. With the intention of telling a story through its instruments and graphic art, this single tells what happens millions of years after an extraterrestrial larva is embedded in the center of a planet and when it comes into contact with some species, it helps them to evolve.
Produced by Glass Mind, mixed by Benjamin Berthier and mastered by Acle Kahney (Tesseract), “El Rey Negro” will be available on all digital platforms starting December 10th.
